That's also not recognizing the impact of the "World of Darkness" vs. toss in obfuscate with those blindspots and then just turn your back when you suspect a camera is in the area. those are blind spots those people make for the people around them that can be taken advantage they block line of sight easy. as a personal exercise, try to remember every face you see in a crowd-now imagine all the people you missed because of the people they're blocking. go through most areas everyone "avoids" for one reason or another because they're abandoned or have a reputation for danger. But some people (like me) would enjoy the roleplaying opportunity.Įven in major metropolitan areas, there are ways to avoid most cameras. This makes the Nosferatu clan weakness probably the hardest to work around. They only come out to feed and then dispose of the bodies. They just stay deep in the sewers, hunt in the worst of the urban sprawl, or hide far away from civilization. I'm sure that there are Nosferatu that just don't bother with disguises, because their Humanity is very low, and/or their blood is so potent that their deformities are too great to be hidden with simple disguises. Of course, there are going to be times where you don't have time to slap on your disguise before you have to go out, and you have to be smart about working around that. They had to have survived somehow in the interim, right? It's more constructive to think of Obfuscate as one tool in a vampire's toolbox, not a Get Out of Clan Weakness Card. Further, not every Nos neonate comes right out of the Embrace with Mask of a Thousand Faces, and I imagine almost all of them have to learn the Obfuscate Discipline and its powers. Because there are going to be times Obfuscate isn't going to help you much, especially if you expect there to be electronic surveillance. I imagine most Nosferatu would likewise have some skill in disguise. It took time, it took effort, but he was able to make himself look human. He would put on his nose, ears, cheekbones, and generally fill out the shrunken horror that was his face. Except this dude had himself a disguise kit and the skill to use it.īefore Eichhorst went out, he would sit in front of a mirror and apply prosthetics. It was this little detail that stuck out, and later you found out why.Įichhorst was just as hideous as other vampires. He alone was able to walk around and interact with people as a person.
Vampires in this particular universe all look pretty inhuman, except for Eichhorst. There's a vampire in the series named Eichhorst(sp). Spoiler alert for anybody that hasn't seen the TV series The Strain, or read the books it's based on, and might be interested in doing so.
